WoW Forever codes: there are no promo codes — here is what the Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes in the packs actually are, and how to spot the fakes

Blizzard's announcement lists the contents of each pack, and the code line is precise. Skyborne Heroic Pack: 'one Invite-A-Friend Launch Code'. Skyborne Epic Pack: 'three total Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes'. Warcraft Forever Collection: everything in Epic, so three. That is the complete published inventory of codes in World of Warcraft: Forever. They are launch codes, not beta codes — the beta line in the same list is separate and describes 'beta access', an account entitlement.

What a code grants is now published, in footnote 7 of Blizzard's product page: 'Invite-A-Friend Launch Code grants an eligible invitee access to WoW: Forever from November 4-11. As a special purchase bonus, one or more Codes will be awarded with qualifying purchases. Codes will be provided by email beginning October 20. Excludes gift purchases. Other restrictions apply. See the Support Article for details.' So a code is a launch-week pass for a friend — whether 'access' also covers the subscription requirement is one of the 'other restrictions' the Support Article will settle. Blizzard Watch's pricing article counted the codes as 1/2/3 across the tiers; this site follows Blizzard's 1/3/3 and notes the disagreement.

Beta access: an entitlement on the buying account, 'beginning September 17' and 'available through October 21', for Epic Pack and Collection owners. There is no beta key and no key giveaway; the only other route is Blizzard's own Beta Opt-In on the product page, 'a chance to beta test' — an invitation, not a code. Early Name Reservation: a pack feature, not a code — it holds a two-part name in your region. Game Time: the Epic Pack's '30 days of World of Warcraft Game Time starting November 4' is applied to the account, not redeemed from a code. Pack cosmetics, mounts and pets: granted with the purchase. Warcraft III: Reforged in the Collection: added to the Battle.net account.

None of those has a code you could type in, share, or find on a website. If a page offers a 'WoW Forever beta key', a 'free Skyborne code' or a 'Game Time code' for Forever, it is offering something Blizzard does not distribute that way.

World of Warcraft's business model is a subscription with an in-client shop and a Battle.net Shop; Blizzard's promotional tools are Twitch Drops, Prime Gaming rewards, retail bundles and, historically, physical Collector's Edition inserts — not public redeem codes. Blizzard has announced none of those for Forever. Its stated pricing is complete: the game is 'included with your World of Warcraft Subscription or Game Time', the packs are the optional extras, the Collector's Edition is the physical option. There is nothing left for a code to unlock.

That is also why the Skyborne cannot be 'unlocked with a code': Blizzard has published no stand-alone unlock and no free path, and press coverage on 13 September noted the same gap. If Blizzard ever adds a promotion — a Twitch Drop for a pet, say — it will appear on its news site, which this site's news feed reads every 30 minutes, and on this page with the date.

Three legitimate code-like mechanisms exist in Blizzard's wider ecosystem, none announced for Forever. Twitch Drops: linked-account rewards for watching streams — Blizzard has used them for retail WoW events and could for a launch. Prime Gaming: monthly rewards claimed through a linked Amazon account. Battle.net gift keys: purchasable packs gifted to another account. If any is announced for Forever, this page will list it with Blizzard's own instructions and the dates. The 'active' and 'expired' lists on this page are empty because, as of 16 September 2026, there is nothing to put in them — and an empty list here is more useful than a fabricated one.

Because almost none of it is coded, almost none of it can be lost, traded or delayed by a redemption step. Beta access on 17 September is attached to the account that bought the Epic Pack or the Collection — log in on the day; it runs through 21 October. The Skyborne race is available at character creation on 4 November to any account with a pack. The Epic Pack's Game Time starts on 4 November automatically, per Blizzard's list, not when a code is entered. The Early Name Reservation holds the name on the account. The one exception, again, is the Invite-A-Friend Launch Codes, which by definition go to someone else: they arrive by email from 20 October and give the friend 4–11 November in Forever.

That also answers the most common code question in the official forum's Forever category: whether a friend can be brought into the beta with a code. No — the codes are launch codes for 4–11 November. The beta packs and the Beta Opt-In are the only doors, and both are per-account.

Settled by the product page: delivery is by email, from 20 October; the friend gets access to Forever from 4 to 11 November; gift purchases do not include codes; 'one or more Codes' come with 'qualifying purchases'. Still open, and deferred by Blizzard to a Support Article it references without linking: the redemption steps; whether the invitee needs an active subscription or whether 'access' covers it; whether a code works across regions; whether the invited character survives past 11 November; whether the 'three total' in the Epic Pack are the Heroic Pack's one plus two more or three in addition; and whether codes expire. The forum watch on this site will show a Blizzard reply the moment one appears.

Search Blizzard's own news site for the offer. If it is not there, it is not real. Check the official WoW: Forever forum for a Blizzard staff post — this site's forum watch marks them. Look at the edition list in Blizzard's announcement: if the item being 'unlocked by code' is on that list as pack content, it is sold, not coded. And never enter Battle.net credentials anywhere but battle.net. The price page on this site lists every pack's contents so a claimed 'code reward' can be checked against what Blizzard actually sells.

It is re-checked whenever Blizzard posts about Forever — the news feed on this site flags such posts within 30 minutes — and after the 17 September Q&A, the 4 November launch and the 9 December raid unlock. If a code mechanism is ever added, it goes into the active list with Blizzard's instructions and a date; when it expires, it moves to the expired list with the date. Nothing is added from third-party 'code' sites.
